Hi, Lisa! Thanks a lot for your comment. I remember when you bought your Lush shampoo bar :) I have used my Lush shampoo two times and it's been not bad so far, but not great either. I used Dr. Bronner's soaps for a while and I quite liked them, and I have tried quite a few brans already. I think after this Lush I will buy Dr. Bronner's again too! I hope it works well for you!

Once again, LUSH nailed it!!! What a wonderful weekend of amazing music, seeing old friends, making new friends, photo ops, autographs and most of all, MEMORIES. I was fortunate enough to see all 3 shows in Los Angeles this year.

I took some 35mm shots that day which I still have plus I still have the vinyl records you signed for me that day. I have no intentions of selling them. It's a record store day exclusive. I had luck finding one at my local shop, but that was with spending an hour in line and a good deal of luck on my side. Check the record store day website to see what stores by you might have it. I think only 2000 were made.

Please welcome Justin Welch from Lush band as the latest member of Greater Bosphorus Family!
Welch moved to London in his late teens and studied at London"s Drumtech drum school. He played drums in a number of bands in the early 1990s including an early line-up of Suede, where he would first meet Justine Frischmann and Spitfire (UK band).
In 1996, Welch also formed the Britpop supergroup Me Me Me (band) with Blur bassist Alex James and The Lilac Time frontman Stephen Duffy, who released one single "Hanging Around".
Elastica split in 2001 and Welch moved to Devon where he taught drums in secondary and primary schools.
In 2012, he was in a duo with former EMF frontman James Atkin - EX EMF called THE ASBO KID. He also played drums for Das Fenster and Oscillator.
In 2013, Welch briefly re-united with Suede for several gigs to replace drummer Simon Gilbert who was unable to play due to contracting tuberculosis.
It was announced, in September 2015, that Welch would play drums in the newly reformed Lush (band).

Soundstage is a new and unique regular London-based arts event. Each month, there is a line-up of two special guest interviewees, discussing their popular work and achievements. There’s likely to be a touch of inspiration and advice.
The event will take place at The Others, 6 Manor Road, Stoke Newington
Miki is the lead vocalist, co-songwriter and guitarist of Lush. The indie band formed in 1987, disbanded in 1998 and reformed in 2015. They signed to 4AD in 1989 and released a six-track mini album named Scar. Later, they became one of the most written-about indie bands of the early 90s. In 1990, they recorded a session for John Peel and played at the Glastonbury Festival. 1992 saw the release of the first full album, Spooky, which was a top ten hit. Two years after their follow-up, Split, came Lovelife. Released in the wake of Britpop, this included the hit singles Single Girl, Ladykillers and 500 (Shake Baby Shake). The album track Ciao! had Miki singing with Jarvis Cocker. Lush announced their breakup in early 1998. They reformed in 2015, before announcing some gigs at London’s Roundhouse in May 2016.

The Breeders and other bands were finding the world of rock more acceptable to girls. British Indie had also been accommodating and it offered a home-from-home for two girls from London.
Miki: "When I was about 12, I, err, my mum went to live in America, I lived with my dad; he wasn"t around very much. I"d moved schools. I was quite lonely. That was the point when music became like a real obsession. Music became my sort of community and so when I met Emma, who was also in Lush, we were quite similar in that way, actually, so we started going to gigs together and then suddenly being in a band was like quite easy because everyone"s in a band, most of them are awful, so you think, "I can do that!""
"When we started, it was just writing music and playing it live, and we didn"t really think much about sound; in fact, we had no technical knowledge about guitars or anything and because we weren"t confident musicians and because we weren"t confident singers, that sort of (pedal) effects and swirlyness, you know, it cloaks a lot, it really does!"
In 1992, Perry Farrell from Jane"s Addiction liked their sound so much that Lush found themselves catapulted into America"s alternative rock scene, where they were asked to play at Lollapalooza, alongside the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Miki: "We got onto this bill that was just ridiculous, and because we were the underdog and we had absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain we had a really good time actually, we really enjoyed it, but it was, you know, an introduction to big American rock."
A few years later, Miki took her experience of meeting the Chili Peppers red-blooded Anthony Kiedis at Lollapalooza and used it for inspiration for Lush"s hit, "Ladykillers".
Miki: "Loads of people at the time that I wrote "Ladykillers" or it came out, they were like, "that"s really sexist towards men, we just give women attention, we"re just trying to chat women up." I don"t mind flirting with people, I just don"t like being sleazed."
In 1996, Lush found themselves described in the press as a Britpop band, and surrounded by new lads, to boot.
Miki: "I didn"t really like the Britpop thing and I didn"t like the association. To me, the landscape changed; it was about being a bloke, it was about having the swagger, it was about larging it. Don"t get me wrong, I have danced my arse off to "Girls And Boys" by Blur, you know, it"s fun, but I just felt excluded. There was a lot of nice people, but some of them were dickheads and assholes."
Did you ever get hassle from the male Britpop bands?
Miki: "I remember Alex from Blur...sinking his teeth into my arse, AND he thought it was hilarious, (he) actually thought I"d be really flattered...and this is what I mean about change; suddenly it seemed OK to relate to women in that way."
In the age of the "lads mags", the band soon discovered that the media wanted more from them then just music.
Miki: "We had a few experiences with photographers, and I remember turning up and there was a sort of rail of, you know, stuff for us to wear and, erm, I was honestly dressed in a skirt that was like a football scarf or something, I mean it barely covered my arse. and the photographer was going, "right, so if you could just turn around and sort of bend over and sort of, if you just open your legs a bit..." I was like, "what the fuck?! Absolutely no way!"
Twenty years after "ladism" became a dirty word, Lush have decided to reform.
Miki: "It"s a great thing to play a gig, it"s so exciting. You create something of your own, you know, you create a real happening, it"s an event and that, I think, is visceral. The rest of it, the kind of the, you know, the you hanging out with whoever it is, you know, you can keep that."

Went to see Archers of Loaf in July this year, met Eric Bachmann and Matt Gentling from the band again (last time was in 1996?). Was flying the Lush colors in the 90s and never stopped!
NEVER would have expected to see another fave band reform. Perhaps I should wear my Jam and Uncle Tupelo shirts more???

Eventhough I can't play as guitar well as the girls in Lush I got so Ebay- happy that I went out and bought a 1994 Split Tour guitar rig like Emma's: Mesa Boogie Simul-class 295 Stereo power amp with studio preamp.
